Custom Dictionary & Expansion Snippets
Teach Vaani proprietary terminology, team names, and multi-sentence text expansion shortcuts.
The Workflow Challenge
Generic voice dictation tools stumble on uncommon startup names, internal API routes, and specialized jargon. With Vaani’s local custom dictionary and expansion snippets, saying short trigger phrases expands into pre-approved boilerplate.
“insert deploy checklist for kubernetes staging”
“1. Verify image digest in ECR. 2. Apply Helm values diff to staging-us-east-1. 3. Run database migration dry-run. 4. Check Datadog APM dashboard for 5xx errors.”
How it works in 3 steps
Define custom keywords in preferences
Add your company names, colleagues’ names, and technical terminology into your local dictionary.
Say your configured trigger phrase
Speak your shortcut (e.g. “insert deploy checklist”) during active dictation.
Expands into formatted template prose
Vaani replaces the trigger phrase with your multi-line snippet template in your target app.
